Drugs Education & Prevention
In 1998, the Government established the Young Peoples Facilities and Services Fund (YPFSF) to target those young people most at risk from substance mis-use in disadvantaged areas by developing sporting and other recreational facilities in a non-threatening and constructive environment.
In Limerick, eight local drug education and prevention projects and a number of capital projects are currently funded through the office of the minister for children and youth affairs. These are administered by the CLVEC and are overseen by the city-wide drugs prevention management group.
